How to read a supplement facts label, one reading at a time
To read a supplement facts label, start with serving size and servings per container, then the amounts and percent Daily Values, then any blend, then the other ingredients. On Payarmin that is 1 mL, 30 servings, chromium 0.7 mcg (2% DV), one 200 mg blend of 22 lines, then the base.

How do you read a supplement facts label step by step?
Read it top to bottom in five stops: serving, count, amounts, blend, and base.
Serving size
Everything below is per this amount. Payarmin: 1 mL.
Servings per container
Payarmin: 30, one 30 mL bottle.
Amounts and % DV
Chromium 0.7 mcg is 2% of a Daily Value of 35 mcg (NIH ODS, Chromium).
Blend
A total weight and an ordered name list: 200 mg, 22 lines.
Other ingredients
Glycerin, water, xylitol and more.
What does percent Daily Value mean on a supplement label?
Percent Daily Value tells you how much one serving gives against a reference amount for the day.
For chromium that reference is 35 mcg, so 0.7 mcg is 2%. Trials of chromium for glucose used 200 to 1,000 mcg (NIH ODS, Chromium), which is far above a Daily Value.
The blend lines show no percent and no amount. A blank is not a zero; it is a figure the maker chose not to print.
How do you read a proprietary blend line on the label?
Read the total, count the names, and divide: 200 mg across 22 lines is 9.09 mg each if equal.
Because names run from most to least by weight, line k is at most 200 / k mg (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)). Maca could reach 200 mg; gymnema, 8th, no more than 25 mg.
| Reading | Value |
|---|---|
| Serving / count | 1 mL / 30 |
| Chromium | 0.7 mcg, 2% DV |
| Blend | 200 mg, 22 lines |
| Gymnema ceiling | 25 mg |

See packsWhy do the other ingredients on a supplement label matter?
They tell you what carries the actives, and some matter for pets, allergies and diets.
Payarmin's base lists glycerin, water, organic lemon extract, stevia extract 97% (Reb A), xylitol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid and natural flavors. Xylitol is dangerous to dogs (FDA, Paws Off Xylitol).

FAQ01
Reading supplement labels: quick answers
What is the difference between serving size and dose?
Serving size is how much you measure out, here 1 mL. Dose is how much of an ingredient it holds. The label gives the serving size but only one clear dose, chromium at 0.7 mcg.
Why does Payarmin show no calories line?
The panel prints none. The label we read shows serving size, servings, chromium, the blend total and the ingredient names, so we do not report calories.
How many label lines does Payarmin have?
Twenty-three: chromium plus 22 blend lines. The sales page names only six ingredients, so the label is the reliable count.
