Chromium Picolinate in Payarmin: What 0.7 mcg Really Is
Chromium picolinate is the one ingredient Payarmin prints an exact amount for: 0.7 mcg per 1 mL serving, which is 2% of the 35 mcg Daily Value. Studies that saw any change used 200 to 1,000 mcg a day, so one serving carries 0.35% of a 200 mcg dose and 0.07% of a 1,000 mcg dose.

The reading01
How much chromium picolinate is in Payarmin?
Each 1 mL serving of Payarmin holds 0.7 mcg of chromium, supplied as chromium picolinate, and the label rates that at 2% of the Daily Value.
Chromium sits on the first line of the Supplement Facts panel, above the 200 mg proprietary blend. It is the only ingredient with a number next to it. Everything else shares the blend total.
The math is short. The Daily Value for chromium is 35 mcg (NIH ODS, Chromium). Divide 0.7 by 35 and you get 0.02, which is the 2% printed on the bottle. At the label's top directions of 2 droppers a day, and assuming one dropper holds 1 mL, you take 1.4 mcg, or 4% of that value.
| Reading | Droppers a day | Chromium | Share of 35 mcg DV |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low direction | 1 | 0.7 mcg | 2% |
| High direction | 2 | 1.4 mcg | 4% |
| Full bottle (30 mL) | 30 servings | 21 mcg total | 60% of one day's DV |
The label does not print how much one dropper holds. We assume 1 mL, the serving size. A smaller dropper shrinks every figure above.
That last row is the surprising one. A whole 30 mL bottle holds 21 mcg of chromium, less than a single day of the Adequate Intake for most adults, which runs 20 to 35 mcg (NIH ODS, Chromium).
Against the research02
Is 0.7 mcg of chromium enough to matter?
No study we cite tested a dose anywhere near 0.7 mcg and reported a result for blood sugar, so the label amount cannot borrow from the trials.
The research on chromium used doses in the hundreds of micrograms. A 1997 trial of 180 adults with type 2 diabetes found lower fasting glucose at 1,000 mcg a day than with placebo or 200 mcg. At 1,000 mcg, a 2010 trial found no significant change (NIH ODS, Chromium). Chromium-only products usually carry 200 to 500 mcg.
A 2019 review gathered trials that ran from 1.28 to 1,000 mcg a day. It found slight drops in fasting glucose and A1C in people with diabetes, of unclear practical size, and a 2016 review found no glucose benefit in healthy people (NIH ODS, Chromium). The NCCIH reads the whole field as weak and inconsistent (NCCIH, Diabetes and Dietary Supplements).
| Trial dose a day | 0.7 mcg is | Servings to reach it | Bottles at 1 dropper a day |
|---|---|---|---|
| 200 mcg | 0.35% | 286 | 9.5 |
| 500 mcg | 0.14% | 714 | 23.8 |
| 1,000 mcg | 0.07% | 1,429 | 47.6 |

Why is chromium listed apart from the blend?
Chromium is listed apart because the label gives it its own amount, while the 22 plant and amino lines are grouped under one 200 mg total.
Federal rules let a company hide single amounts inside a proprietary blend as long as it prints the blend total and lists lines by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)). Payarmin does that for all 22 blend lines. Chromium is outside the blend, so its 0.7 mcg is printed in the open.
So the line count is 23: chromium plus 22 blend lines. The sales page names only six.

Does chromium in Payarmin support blood sugar?
Chromium is studied for blood sugar, but the studied amounts are 285 to 1,430 times the amount in one serving, so the label does not back a blood sugar claim by itself.
The ratio is just division: 200 divided by 0.7 is about 286, and 1,000 divided by 0.7 is about 1,429. The sales page calls the product "the best option for supporting healthy blood sugar levels". No trial of Payarmin is named, and the ADA says its guidelines find no supplement proven to lower blood glucose (ADA, Vitamins & Supplements).
Never stop or change insulin, metformin or any other prescription because of a supplement. Chromium can add to diabetes drugs and raise the chance of a low, and it may reduce levothyroxine absorption (NIH ODS, Chromium). At 0.7 mcg that risk is small on paper, but tell your clinician about every product you take.
If you do track readings, a low is under 70 mg/dL for many people, with shakiness, hunger, sweating and a fast heartbeat (NIDDK, Low Blood Glucose). The other ingredients, not chromium, carry most of the drug-interaction notes; see the guide to supplements and diabetes medicines.
Profile and neighbors05
Where does chromium fit among the 23 label lines?
Chromium is line zero of 23: the only one with a printed amount, the only one outside the 200 mg blend.
The profile below repeats the label name, the amount and the evidence we cite. Use the links under it to read the next line on the label.
| Label name | Chromium (as Chromium Picolinate) |
|---|---|
| What it is | Trace mineral |
| Place on the label | Chromium line, above the blend |
| Amount per 1 mL serving | 0.7 mcg per mL (2% DV) |
| Extract footnote | None printed |
| Amount used in research | Hundreds of mcg in key trials (200-1,000 mcg a day) |
| Strength of evidence | Mixed; small effect in some people with diabetes |
| Marketed or traditional use | Helps insulin do its job |
| Main caution | Can add to the effect of diabetes medicines; may reduce levothyroxine absorption. |
FAQ06
Chromium picolinate questions, answered
How many mcg of chromium picolinate are in one Payarmin serving?
One 1 mL serving holds 0.7 mcg of chromium as chromium picolinate, which the label rates at 2% of the Daily Value. Two droppers a day, if a dropper is 1 mL, would be 1.4 mcg. The label does not print the dropper volume, so we assume 1 mL.
Is 0.7 mcg of chromium a good dose?
It is a small dose for a supplement: 2% of a 35 mcg Daily Value. Trials that reported changes used 200 to 1,000 mcg a day. Seven-tenths of a microgram is 0.35% of the low end, so it works as a label line more than a trial-sized dose.
What is the Daily Value for chromium?
The Daily Value is 35 mcg, and the Adequate Intake for adults is 20 to 35 mcg depending on sex and age. Divide 0.7 by 35 and you get the 2% on the Payarmin label. A full 30 mL bottle holds 21 mcg of chromium in all.
Why does chromium picolinate come up in blood sugar research?
Chromium was tested for glucose control because the mineral is involved in how the body handles insulin. Results are mixed: one 1997 trial at 1,000 mcg showed lower fasting glucose, a 2010 trial at the same dose showed no significant change, and healthy people saw no benefit.
Can chromium picolinate interact with medicines?
It can. Chromium may add to insulin and other diabetes drugs, which raises the chance of low blood sugar, and it may reduce levothyroxine absorption. The Payarmin amount is tiny, but tell your doctor or pharmacist about the product, especially if you take either medicine.
Does a bottle of Payarmin contain enough chromium to count as a chromium supplement?
No. A 30 mL bottle holds 21 mcg of chromium across all 30 servings, less than one day of the Adequate Intake for most adults. A chromium-only product usually gives 200 to 500 mcg in one day.
