Is Payarmin safe? Where the safety margins are thin

Quick answer

No one can call Payarmin safe for everyone, because no safety study of the finished drops is named and the single blend amounts are hidden. The label limits use to 1 or 2 droppers a day and tells pregnant or nursing mothers, anyone under 18 and anyone with a known condition to ask a physician first.

Is Payarmin safe to take?

Payarmin may suit many healthy adults at the label amount, but safe is not proven, and the label itself tells three groups to ask a physician first.

The FDA does not review supplements for safety or effect before sale (FDA, Using Dietary Supplements). The vendor has shown no safety trial of this product. The cap at two droppers is the label's own guard rail.

Safety comes down to margins, and some are thin.

Which Payarmin ingredients call for caution?

Five points need caution: caffeine, diabetes drugs, thyroid pills, licorice-type compounds and grapefruit-type interactions.

Where the margins are thin
PointWhy it matters
Guarana, green teaAdd caffeine, no amount printed (MSKCC, Guarana)
ChromiumMay add to diabetes drugs; may cut levothyroxine uptake (NIH ODS, Chromium)
Green tea extractRare liver injury has been reported (NCCIH, Green Tea)
GlycyrrhizinateLicorice compound; blood pressure and heart concerns (NCCIH, Licorice Root)
Grapefruit extractGrapefruit can raise some drug levels (FDA, Grapefruit juice and drugs)

Green tea, grapefruit and glycyrrhizinate each weigh at most 29 mg per mL. Small is not zero, and true amounts are not printed.

Is Payarmin safe around dogs and children?

Keep it away from both: the label says to keep it out of reach of children, and the xylitol in the base is dangerous to dogs.

Xylitol can crash a dog's blood sugar within 10 to 60 minutes (FDA, Paws Off Xylitol). If a dog may have licked or swallowed any, call a vet or animal poison control right away.

The label tells anyone under 18 to ask a physician first. Do not use a bottle whose safety seal is damaged or missing.

Who should ask a doctor before using Payarmin?

Ask first if you are pregnant, nursing, under 18, on insulin or a diabetes pill, on a thyroid or blood-pressure drug, or living with any known condition.

Keep taking prescribed medicine.

A supplement does not replace it. If you feel shaky, hungry, sweaty or confused on diabetes drugs, treat a possible low first and call your clinician.

Stop the drops and call a clinician if you notice a racing heart, yellow skin or eyes, or dark urine. The side effects page and the fit check go further.

FAQ01

Payarmin safety: quick answers

Has Payarmin been tested for safety?

No safety test of the finished drops is named. The label says it was made in an FDA registered facility, which is a registration, not a review (FDA, Registration of Food Facilities guide). A lot number and a certificate reference exist, but no lab report is published.

Can Payarmin cause hidden drug ingredients?

No sign of that has been shown, and we cannot rule it out either. The FDA has found unapproved drugs in some supplements (Tucker et al., JAMA Netw Open 2018). With no lab report published for Payarmin, ask for a certificate of analysis before you trust the bottle.

Is Payarmin safe to take long term?

No long-term study of Payarmin exists in what we found. The label gives a daily cap but no stop date. Review use with a pharmacist at day 30 and day 60 instead of drifting into months of daily drops.
